About This Project

I planned and designed a drive thru coffee shop. This building is suspended by the roof and below there are three lanes to increase drive thru efficiency and speed. Ever since the Coronavirus pandemic began, drive-thru lines have been wrapped around street corners resulting in longer wait times. This cafe promotes social distancing and allows for ventilation because of the negative shapes in the roofing. The restaurant and food industry has been hit hard during this pandemic so I wanted to find effective ways that businesses can run while simultaneously being Covid-safe. For the roof, I laser cut an acrylic sheet with a unique pattern and it was able to support the building. The drive thru customers would not make contact with the cashiers and baristas as there are three coffee drops inside that lead to the corresponding lanes below. I drew this digital drawing in 3 point perspective on Photoshop and created floor plans on Illustrator.
